EDC is pleased to be the M&E Consultants for these 2 transformative Cork developments.
An Bord Pleanála have given the green light for the 15-storey Prism office building and 165-bedroom Hotel Development located in Cork City Centre.
This development located in Cork City Centre between Clontarf Street and Oliver Plunkett Street Lower was granted planning permission at the end of May. This 15-storey 5,574 sq m development by Tower Development Group will be a striking and transformative building for the area. EDC have been appointed as the M&E consultants for this project working alongside Reddy Architecture, Planning Consultants McCutcheon Halley, AECOM, ARUP and Pederson Focus.
In their decision An Bord Pleanála noted that this development “will make a positive contribution to the urban character and skyline of the area”. This development will assist in the regeneration of the site and surrounding area while being at the centre of all of Cork’s main transport facitilies.
Adjoining that site, Tetrarch Capital, has got the green light for a 165-bedroom hotel and some retail at 7/8 and 9 Parnell Place, Deane Street, and Oliver Plunkett Street. This 165-bedroom Hotel will also have a food hall, shop and cafe all fronting onto an internal courtyard. EDC is also pleased to have been appointed as the M&E consultant for this project which is due to begin construction this year.
Combined with the Prism, Penrose and Horgan’s Quay (HQ) developments, these urban renewal projects are expected to considerably enhance the built environment between the bus station, docklands and the railway station.
