INTRODUCTION

Talgarth Road, Hammersmith, a magnificent development located in the Hammersmith district and is a highly sustainable project, providing biodiversity support and promoting wellness.

The development will consist of a 715 bed PBSA scheme
with amenity spaces at the ground floor, there is also a 400-bedroom Premier Inn
hotel adjacent to the student development as part of this scheme.

EDC Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Overview

EDC was appointed to deliver the 400 Bed Premier Inn hotel on the south of the site and the 715 bed PBSA scheme on the north of the site. While adopting a fabric first approach on the energy strategy for both schemes we utilised a hybrid gas boiler and a central air source heat pump system to achieve the Part L & CO2 targets on the hotel. The hotel also adopted air source heat pumps to
achieve the hot water loads and heating and colling via central air source heat
pumps.

The PBSA scheme adopted a hybrid VRF system and an MVHR system to all rooms to achieve the Part L & CO2 targets. The PBSA building also adopted air source heat
pumps to achieve the hot water load whilst the electrical demand for the
development was also supplemented with a roof PV array.

EDC was appointed from stage 1 through to stage 5 on the MEP design and energy services working collaboratively with HG construction & HG M&E to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of both projects during the construction phase.

We look forward to seeing this exciting project take shape.
