INSIGHT

EDC shortlisted in three categories at the 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards

We’re proud to announce that EDC has been shortlisted across three categories at this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards:

  1. Engineering Consultancy of the Year
  2. Best People Development in Engineering
  3. Women in Engineering Award – Sara Steele

This recognition reflects the impact of our cross-border teams and the trust of our clients across Ireland, the UK, and international markets.

Engineering Consultancy of the Year

Our shortlisting for Engineering Consultancy of the Year recognises the way EDC delivers complex building services and energy solutions at scale, coordinating multi-office teams, aligning to international codes and client standards, and applying digital design to compress programme risk. Whether we’re supporting local authorities or multinational developers, our approach is consistent: evidence-led design, rigorous coordination, and performance that holds up on site.

Best People Development in Engineering

Great projects follow great people. Being shortlisted for Best People Development in Engineering acknowledges our global learning culture.

At EDC, people development is woven into how we work, not an add-on. Through our development pillar, Shoot for the Stars, within our People Experience Promise, we turn ambition into practice: targeted learning mapped to role frameworks, chartership and CPD embedded in live project delivery, and cross-office collaboration that builds international experience and confidence. Mentoring, design reviews, and regular feedback connect learning to outcomes, better coordination, safer delivery, and smarter, lower-carbon solutions for clients. We measure progress through capability gains and project performance, strengthening our internal pipeline and opening new opportunities across our network. The result is simple: when our people thrive, our projects excel. And we do it together.

Women in Engineering Award – Sara Steele

We’re especially delighted that Sara Steele is shortlisted for the Women in Engineering Award. Sara’s leadership embodies EDC’s values: technical excellence, inclusive teamwork, and a relentless focus on delivery. She’s helped shape project outcomes and people outcomes, raising standards while opening doors for the next generation of engineers.

Thank You!

To our clients, suppliers and collaborators around the world. Thank you for your continued trust. And to our teams across Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, London, Istanbul and beyond, this recognition is yours.
