In operation for just over twenty years, the €3m refurbishment of the Collins Bar and Kingfisher room in 2018 has transformed the elegant 4* property. EDC was responsible for the Mechanical and Electrical design of these public areas incorporating an extensive new bar area, as well as upgrades to the seating and lighting to provide a relaxed social atmosphere. Large state of the art plasma screens were fitted throughout the bar to accommodate the screening of all major sporting events and a new roofed terrace onto the main street side of the bar was added which required additional mechanical and electrical design with EDC provided.
