Holborn Viaduct

London

Project Overview:

In the heart of the City of London, the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation development will deliver 669 bedrooms across 12 storeys plus 2 storey basement, with over 35% allocated as affordable accommodation and 64 rooms as wheelchair accessible. Delivering a high-quality space for student interaction, students will have access to a wealth of generous amenities including an on-site cafe/bar, cinema room, music rooms, games area, gym and external roof terraces. The project will also deliver public realm improvements, including a new viaduct connecting Holborn Viaduct and Snow Hill, as well as a gateway to the new Museum of London at Smithfield Market near to Farringdon Station.

EDC Scope of Works:

EDC is currently delivering Stage 3 and 4 MEP design for this project, alongside sustainability and energy engineering, construction services, and BREEAM consultancy.

Our scope includes a comprehensive review of the Stage 4 MEP package, ensuring value engineered solutions while maintaining high-performance standards. EDC will also provide technical input on utility applications and ensure all documentation is updated for record purposes. During the construction phase, EDC will review contractor submissions, provide office-based technical support, and conduct system validation and commissioning site visits.

Additionally, support will be provided for subcontractor appointments, including the preparation of M&E packs, tender reviews, and coordination meetings with appointed subcontractors.
