Binara is a Sustainability Engineer at EDC (Engineering Design Consultants), with specialist expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, and Renewable Energy Technologies. He is an SEAI-registered BER assessor for both domestic and non-domestic buildings, working across housing and commercial projects. His core skills include BER calculations, decarbonisation assessments, and thermal load calculations, including CIBSE plant sizing. He also delivers detailed overheating, daylight, and sunlight assessments using IES VE software. Binara holds a First Class Honours Master’s in Energy Management from Technological University Dublin and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka’s leading engineering institute. He combines strong technical knowledge with a commitment to driving sustainable building performance across Ireland.
