Project Overview:
Oasis Academy is a 2-storey independent primary school for 420 pupils, with a multi-use games area located on the roof. It forms part of the redevelopment of a former 1930’s hospital site which also provided a 24-unit apartment block.
Oasis Primary School, Putney has been shortlisted as a finalist for the London LABC Building Excellence Awards 2017. The awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry, rewarding excellent buildings, outstanding companies, partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile.
The scheme was completed in November 2016, by contractors – Durkan, providing a new primary school at Putney Green in partnership with the London Borough of Wandsworth. Located on a former hospital site on the edge of Putney Common, the school was financed with cross subsidy proceeds from the sale of 24 new apartments on an adjoining site.
This high quality development delivered a modern, sustainable, BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Primary School through an efficient and joint venture partnership.
