Thus far, 2018 has seen continued growth for EDC Engineers with our three offices thriving thanks to multiple projects wins in the last few months.
In 2017 we pushed ourselves to ensure we deliver some amazing projects using state of the art technologies and tools and in 2018 we are continuing this trend.
We have always been a tech-forward company. Not content with keeping up with other Engineering Consultancies, we aim to stay two steps ahead by using advanced technology solutions.
We were the first MEP consultancy in Ireland and the UK to achieve accreditation for Level 2 Building Information Modelling (BIM) Delivery.
In basic terms, that means we have been recognised as first in our sector in adopting and developing the very latest in 3-D modelling tech. We can build models which allow clients and partners to “walk” through a virtual building. These models allow for a smoother construction phase (saving on RFIs and technical queries) clarity, flexibility and, at the end of the construction phase, a valuable asset for the client’s future facilities program.
MEP solutions are becoming increasingly complex. By staying ahead on virtual modelling and similar tools, we offer clients the clearest picture possible of what to expect at all phases of the project.
We offer flexibility with a combined offering in 1 house; automated BOQ, automation of site processes as well as 24-hour support and response with a dedicated project lead. Rework on site due to poor design and site issues can account for 5% of all construction costs – as a result of our BIM knowledge we help are able to anticipate potential problems and remove risks and unforeseen costs on site.
Our London office continues to go from strength to strength with recent appointments on various residential schemes including the exciting new Brick by Brick development company established by Croydon Council. EDC are providing the M&E design, Energy & Fire Engineering services to 4 schemes. EDC are delighted to be appointed by Henry Construction on the Kingsdown, Longheath Gardens, Tollers Lane & Fairfield Hall schemes and look forward to delivering successful projects.
The residential, commercial and energy from waste sectors remain strong with multiple projects secured in these sectors over the last 6 months.
Our Cork office continues to thrive with the recent Sullivan’s Quay and Horgan’s Quay projects secured and we look forward to being associated with these two prestigious projects. We continue to secure numerous BIM modelling projects based on our proven track record in delivering successful BIM Level 2 projects on time and within the program.
Our Dublin office has recently moved to larger premises and this office continues to flourish seeing steady growth since its induction in 2016 including expanding our staff numbers due to our strong position in the Irish market.
Our people are our greatest asset, it is the team at EDC that have made it the success it is today. The way we work every day supports our company values: progressive; dynamic; collaborative; proactive and ambitious. We are happy to welcome the following new hires for 2018:
