EDC’s Commitment to ‘Leading the Way’ in Inclusive Workplace Culture

EDC’s Commitment to ‘Leading the Way’ in Inclusive Workplace Culture

At EDC, we believe that progressive engineering goes beyond our innovative designs and sustainable solutions. It’s also about fostering a workplace culture where everyone, regardless of their background, interests, or personal circumstances, feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute to their fullest potential. We are proud to share that our recent Inclusion Score for 2024, conducted by the Irish Centre for Diversity, has reaffirmed our commitment to this ethos.

'A Remarkable Achievement': Our Diversity and Inclusion Score

Our diversity and inclusion accreditation process provided a valuable opportunity for our people to express their viewpoints and share their experiences. This feedback is not just a metric; it’s a foundation upon which we continually build and improve. We are thrilled to announce that EDC’s Inclusion score was 87.5%.

At EDC, we are driven by our core values. We believe that a business that operates and conveys its values daily is bound for success. Two of our core values – Progressive and People-Centric – are particularly integral to our approach to diversity and inclusion.

Progressive: Pioneering a Future-Ready Workplace

Our tagline, “Progressive Engineering,” speaks to our innovative approach to our projects. But being progressive is not limited to our engineering solutions; it extends to our workplace culture. We understand that the future of work requires flexibility, adaptability, and continuous improvement. By embracing diverse perspectives, we are cultivating a place of innovation that drives us to think differently, challenge the status quo, and lead the way in our industry.

People-Centric: Our Most Important Strength

At the heart of EDC are our people. We firmly believe that our greatest strength is our talented and diverse team across Ireland, the UK and Turkey. Being people-centric means prioritising the well-being, growth, and satisfaction of everyone at EDC. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is a natural extension of this value.

From our experience, a diverse team brings a wealth of perspectives that fuel innovation, leading to better problem-solving and more robust solutions – something of which our clients find incredibly valuable.

A Workplace for Everyone

Our workplace culture is designed to cater to all interests, work-life balance needs, and personal circumstances. Whether it’s offering flexible working, prioritising CPD, life balance days or celebrating diverse cultural backgrounds, we are committed to being a place where everyone can belong and succeed.

“We’re proud of this achievement, but we’re not done yet. At EDC, we know that an inclusive workplace isn’t just nice to have—it’s key to staying ahead. We’ll keep pushing, improving, and making sure our people feel valued every step of the way.”

Richard O'Farrell, Managing Director

Looking Ahead: Building on Our Progress

While we are proud of our achievements, we recognise that diversity and inclusion are ongoing journeys. There is always room for growth and improvement. At EDC, we remain committed to listening, learning, and leading by example.

As we look to the future, we invite you to join us on this journey of continuous progress – whether as a valued team member, a trusted client, or a supportive partner. For more information, visit: Work With US – EDC – Progressive Engineering (edcengineers.com)
