New Promotions Across our UK & Irish Offices.

EDC is delighted to announce 6 promotions within our Cork, Dublin and London offices. Congratulations to the newly promoted Associate Directors Gareth Murphy, Thomas O’Shea, Erdi Eksi, Josh Tobin, Alan Tyrrell and Stephen McCormack.

We are proud to have such a depth of expertise and professionalism within our EDC team and over the past 18 months, we have grown our team to over 70 staff across our 4 offices. Each new Associate Director has been chosen due to their experience, professionalism and contribution to the company and we welcome them to the management team.

Meet EDC’s new Associate Directors:

“I am extremely happy to have been promoted to Associate Director with EDC and look forward to the challenges ahead. Tom is a Senior Electrical Engineer and Associate Director with in-depth experience working in both contracting and consulting in the commercial and pharmaceutical sectors as well as practical experience of working as a qualified electrician. Tom is currently studying for his masters in project management at UCC and will graduate in 2022. 

"I am delighted to reach this milestone! The career advancement here at EDC has been wonderful for me along with the breadth and range of projects I have had the pleasure of working on. I look forward to being part of the growth of EDC."

Erdi qualified as an Electrical Engineer with 9 years of experience. He has in-depth experience in large scale projects in both Turkey and Ireland working recently on projects such as Horgan’s Quay and Highfield House.

Erdi is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and holds certificates in Turkey for High Voltage Design and Solar Panel Design. Erdi has particular expertise in the residential, mixed-use and leisure sectors.

"I joined EDC in 2015 as an electrical engineer, and with the continued support of EDC in development and training, I have since progressed to hold other roles which include senior electrical engineer and Projects Lead. I am delighted to now be part of the management team as Associate Director and look forward to seeing the Dublin office grow in the coming years."

Gareth graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2012 with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Services and Energy Management and is also a qualified electrician with onsite experience in the installation of industrial electrical works. Gareth has a wide range of technical expertise covering all market sectors including residential, industrial, student residential and commercial offices. 

Notable projects include North City Operations Depot, Bombardier Energy from waste facility, Highfield House Student accommodation, Guinness Enterprise Centre and Carechoice Nursing Home Swords.

Stephen has over 19 years of construction industry experience under his belt having worked as a trade electrician in the Commercial, Industrial, Medical & Pharma sectors and holds a BEng in Electrical Services Design from The Dublin Institute of Technology. Over the past few years, he has worked on the electrical design of several high profile projects including a mission-critical facility in Lagos and the world’s largest co-living development in Canary Wharf.

Stephen has extensive knowledge of the construction process from initial project concept design through to final handover. He is a competent, practical engineer and an excellent communicator who brings value to all projects.

"I started in EDC as a work placement student and have worked hard to get to where I am now. EDC has invested heavily in me over the past few years and I’m looking forward to applying this knowledge moving forward. We have a great design team in London to meet the needs of our clients, and this new role will allow me to apply my personal touch on delivering future projects for our clients whilst helping EDC develop commercially and technically over the coming months and years. I’m looking forward to this new challenge. Here’s to a great future ahead!"

Josh is a Mechanical Design Engineer with in depth experience in design, specification and project management for new build and refurbishment projects of mechanical building services installations in commercial, public and residential sectors. Josh has particular expertise in sustainable technologies and drainage services design. 

Josh has an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of mechanical building services systems including low-temperature heat networks, piping hydraulics, and building management systems. Notable projects include Dexion House, Equipment Works and Hilton by Hampton Victoria Road.

"I am delighted to be joining the leadership team as an Associate Director, and look forward to working closely with our partners and clients on both our existing and new projects. This is an exciting time of growth for the EDC London Office and I am looking forward to this new chapter in my career path!"

Alan is a Project Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the construction industry. Alan has worked in a leading role on major landmark projects comprising of high specification commercial, office, residential & retail projects and has a solid understanding of Energy Strategies, Part L Requirements, Fire Engineering and BREEAM. Alan is also a qualified electrician and brings a considerable amount of practical knowledge and site experience to the design process. Notable projects include Hilton by Hampton Victoria Road and Beamhouse Yard
