Project Overview:

In July 2010, Cork was selected as the location for Lilly’s European Shared Services. This new office location, with a team of 100+, supports a diverse geographical area of over 40 countries across Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa in the areas of Finance – General Accounting, Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay.

Over the past 10 years, GBS Cork has evolved from shared service provider to global business partner for many of Lilly’s key business units. The Centre offers innovative solutions that add value to the wider enterprise and has expanded far beyond its original financial mandate.

This 55,000 sqft office building operates as a financial call centre so comfort and resilient IT were key client goals. The client also had a detailed AV requirement to facilitate communication solutions to other sister offices throughout the world. The project was delivered on time and on budget. 

EDC Scope of Works:

1. Technical Advisor role during the design and construction phases providing performance checking of the M&E designs and proposals to ensure that they are in compliance with client’s requirements.
2. Attend site fortnightly for site meetings and carry out spot checking on site during the construction phase of the project, provide ongoing quality control and inspection reporting on the mechanical and electrical installation.
3. Detailed engineering review of the MEP packages including calculations submitted in the pack.
4. Submittal reviews from the M&E sub contractors to ensure that the meet the required specifications and equipment schedules.
5. Detailed installation snag at the end of the project and carry out detailed commissioning review and verification at hand over stage.
